Board meeting, 04/16/2008
April 16th, 2008
Attendees: Aren Cambre, Gary McDonnell, Kathy Renaud, Rory Yocum, Will White and Jennifer Lavender.
Meeting called to order at 7:40pm by Aren Cambre.
Galway Circle Project:
- Jennifer met with Molly today (4/16/07) on project. City considers land “right of way”, but shouldn’t be an issue moving forward. Would like to get Playground in area at some point as a “Phase II” project. Need to determine feasibility for a small playground. Mowmentum program would not cover playground equipment, funds would have to be raised separately for this phase. Can use local resources such as Boyscouts and school organizations for project and maintaining area periodically. To mitigate arguments against crime or loitering, the Video Surveillance program will be in place to guard against this. Playground would be an option next year possibly. Suggested to get pictures of other neighborhood park areas to publish in newsletter to gain public acceptance.
Waterford Circle – Ann Allen is on board with taking over responsibility for refreshing the Waterford Circle landscaping. Gary McDonnell volunteered to contact Ann.
Garland/Buckner Intersection – Once completed, LPENA will need to “adopt” one of the 3 median landscaping areas to maintain.
April General Meeting – April 24th, 7:00PM.
- Will will have a final ballot for meeting.
- Send out email to announce list inviting any additional nominations for the LPENA Board ballot.
May Block Party
- Committee Members: Kelli Beichler, Daleen Maxwell, Jennifer Lavender, Kathy Renaud, Lucy White, Theresa Lobmeyer.
- Committee meeting Thursday night, 7:00PM at Starbucks to discuss planning.
Membership Campaign
- At least 80 new renewals already through membership drive.
Incorporation Status
- 100% done. Received binder from SMU law center. Also non-profit status is complete.
Camera Security Committee Update
- Meetings in progress, coordinating with Terry France for meeting to discuss technical goals.
Crime Watch
- 6 incidents in neighborhood in month of March, mostly BMV.
