LPENA Board Meeting – February 10, 2009

 

Aren Cambre called meeting to order 7:43PM

 

Attendees:  Aren Cambre, Gary McDonnell, Will White, Scott Powell, Karen Pape, Mark Hoesterey

 

Events:

-          May Block Party:  Contacting Kathy Renaud to get planning notes for block party planning

-          Pet Registration Drive: 

o   Suggested that we include all neighborhood Vets

o   General concensus to do this again

o   If decide to expand to include surrounding neighborhoods, then hold it on separate day from party

o   Ask neighborhood vets about what else we can include from an animal perspective

 

Projects:

-          VIP

o   Program is officially kicked off, first patrol starts morning of February 11th, 2009.

o   Will have pictures taken to commemorate the occasion.

o   Equipment on hand:

§  Amber Security Light

§  2 Magnetic Signs for car doors

§  Notebook with contact info, maps, logs, etc….

o   Equipment to be purchased:

§  Crate at Lowe’s to hold equipment

§  Flashlight/spotlight and pen lights

§  Magnetic trunk lid sign to identify car from the back.

§  Police Scanner (Will will research good models and Aren will check with neighboring organizations on their input)

-          Crime Cameras

o   Aren, Gary and Will are visiting a company on Friday to investigate camera hardware technologies.

o   At block party, have a demo ready to show neighbors.

-          Waterford Circle

o   Progress is being made.  WooHoo!!!!!  Circle was cleared this past weekend.  Planning planting of Crepe Myrtle’s and 25 yards of mulch on 21st

-          Neighborhood Directory

o   Coordinating to do in conjunction with Membership Drive

o   Make efforts to be sensitive to people’s desire to privacy

o   Offer free “No Soliciting” sign to anyone who submits their information for the directory

o   Much debate on legal and ethical stances on privacy and advertising information in directory

 

Administration:

-          Nominations Committee

o   Committee formed and Sheryl is spearheading the effort

o   Committee meeting Tuesday to talk about current nominations

o   Requested committee find a Crime Watch Chair committee member

-          Membership Drive

-          Block Captain Coordinator

 

Treasurer:

-          Nothing new on membership levels

-          No new balance information.  $9,419.00 balance as of 01/01/2009

 

Other:

-          Fire on Erin Drive, Aren sent out information to neighborhood on latest status.
